Ahmad Bakr (13 years old) conveys the suffering of Palestinian fishermen through art by painting on canvases near the seashore of the Gaza port.

Bakr said, in a sad tone of voice, that Palestinian fishermen have to risk their lives to protect their boats and source of income, as they are constantly targeted by the Israeli occupation forces. He was inspired to focus on their suffering in particular after his cousin was killed by the occupation forces while driving his own boat".

Through one of his paintings, Bakr highlighted the issue of the Israeli occupation not providing fishermen with the basic equipment necessary for their work. The artwork shows a fisherman trying to repair his boat motor himself in the midst of the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
